My thoughts on Jurassic World

In the summer of 1993, as children, we were wowed by Steven Spielberg’s cinematic adaptation of Michael Crichton’s book about dinosaurs running amok on an island. Fast forward 22 years, as adults we are still excited to witness pretty much the same thing on a larger scale in the visual spectacle that is Jurassic World.

Set 22 years since the events of the first movie, (the movie completely ignores the events of JP2 and the horrible JP3), this movie starts with the audiences being introduced to the fully operational and quite profitable dinosaur amusement park that is Jurassic World.

The Toy

Simon liked his new toy. He played with it every time his parents left him alone. Today the toy seemed to be not working in the usual manner. It kept malfunctioning and jerking.

Simon was cross. He wanted to play with the toy. He wondered what could he do to make it work like before.

The Delicacy

Disclaimer: The idea for this particular short story came around the time the ban on beef in the state of Maharashtra came into effect and became a trending topic on social media.

His tastebuds had not known such flavour. The meat – tender. The marinade – sublime. The grill – perfection. The gravy – phenomenonal.

The Last Humans

Adrian, Adnan and Emily were the last humans on the planet called Earth. War, famine, disease and mostly stupidity had wiped out most of the population on their planet. Other unsavory events and unforeseen circumstances led to them being the sole survivors. They were roaming the streets of what was once the city of Boston. 

Adrian was a Boston resident with a strong Irish lineage. He was a bartender and a husband before the apocalypse.
